Staniel Cay is accessible by boat, regularly scheduled flights, charter planes, and private airplanes. Daily flights arrive and depart from Staniel Cay from Fort Lauderdale and Nassau. Staniel Cay Villas offers two luxury villa rentals. Villa Runaway is a completely renovated exclusive private beachfront 6 bedroom, 3.5 bath house with pool, swim up bar, waterfront cabana and all the conveniences you need. Villa Copasetic is a luxurious oceanfront 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath home with infinity pool and yacht dockage for an extra fee.

Staniel Cay offers a few options for picking up your needed provisions including Burke’s ‘Blue’ Convenience Store, Pink Pearl, and Isles General Store where you can find everything you need. Learn more on our Drinks & Dining page.

Casual summer wear can be worn during the day at any time of the year, but be sure to bring a jacket or sweater for the cooler evenings from December to February. Of course, don’t forget our beachwear but remember it is inappropriate in churches, and some restaurants, so bring something along to cover up. A hat, sunglasses and sunscreen is always a good idea. Don’t forget any special medication

The Bahamian dollar is the currency in Bahama and is equal to $1 USD with a fixed exchange rate. There are no ATMs or even a bank on Staniel Cay. Make sure to bring more than enough spending cash to the island. Credit cards are accepted but expect to pay a 5% fee.

All times are great times to visit Staniel Cay. Winter and Spring is high season and one of the busier times with more guests escaping the cold weather in the North but you can always find secluded private places to explore and relax. Summer is fantastic with hotter temperatures, cooling sea breezes, and warmer waters. Fall is slow season and the quietest time but an opportunity to enjoy local living and island life at its finest.

The weather in Staniel Cay is nearly perfect year round with average highs of 77 to 86 °F (25 to 30 °C). Winter lows average a comfortable 70 °F (21 °C). Summer highs range from 80 to 90 °F (26 to 32 °C). Water temperatures are great year round at 70 to 80 °F (21 to 26 °C). Things cool off a little now and then all year with some rain passing through quickly as squalls and thunderstorms so it never ruins your plans. May and June tend to have the most rain.

Hurricane season is typically from June through November.

Electrical outlets in The Bahamas are 60 cycles/120 volts, which is compatible with all American devices. British and European appliances require a two-pin flat adapter and a 220-volt converter.

Staniel Cay Villas allows pets at the Runaway Villa but not at the Copasetic Villa. Note, an import permit is required from the Ministry of Agriculture and Marine Resources to bring pets into the Bahamas. The permit is valid for one year from the date of issue.
